It's an Alien Party.

Hey there. Today is my day to post over at Meljen's Designs, so I thought I would share it over here.

I have spent the last few days planning my youngest son's 5th birthday party. The idea for the party all started with a picture of a cake from last month's issue of Disney Family Fun magazine.

Now AJ thought that this was the COOLEST cake ever and so the whole theme for the party revolved around the alien cake. Now in addition to coming up with fun activities and games I  had to come up with an idea for the party invites. Of course the first thing that came to my mind was the Alien and Monster release from last  September. I asked AJ which image he wanted me to use on the invites and he chose Squiggy the AlienSo now my task was to come up with something simple yet fun for a 5th birthday party. I found a fun paper pack that I got at the Dollar Tree (surprising I know) and the rest went together so easily. AJ had me make pink papered invites to go to the girls and the blue for boys. It was so fun to have him sitting at my desk with me while I made these for him. He made all the decisions for me. He chose the papers, the sentiment and the markers I used to color the image.

Now all I have to do is print up some of these in big scale for coloring pages for the kids to take home in their goodie bags.

Pretty in Pink (and Green)

Hey there everyone. It's almost Friday. YAY.

I must apologize for my long absence from my blog. We had some  health issues with my boys that took all my focus and energy. Everyone is fine now so I will be back to blogging and bringing fun inspiration.

It is CHALLENGE day over at Meljen's Designs. This week's challenge is: PINK & GREEN

My card for the challenge is made using "Springtime Candle". I love this image. I love that I can use it for a variety of different needs. This card is going to be sent to Mike's Step-Grandparents to say Thank You for the lovely Easter gifts they sent the boys. I used some fun houndstooth paper from Scrapworks. I paired this  with a variety of flowers and added some awesome new bling I got at the CKC this year.

Thanks for visiting and  please leave me some love.
