Its a Royal day

Hey ladies it's Friday again and do you know what that means? It meant that there is another challenge over at the Card Makin Mamas Challenge Blog.

This week's challenge is sponsored by  Meljen's Designs and the challenge is FOR A LOVED ONE and the winner will get 4 stamps of their choosing. Fun challenge huh?

For my card this week I used a brand new image released today from Meljen's Designs  called Hansel & Gretel. Super cute huh? I found this sentiment from Paper Makeup Stamps in my computer file and new it would work perfectly with this image. I used some fabulous paper scraps that I had (I seem to have ALOT of scraps) and topped  it off with the Making Memories flowers and a Dewe Drop.

Now what are you waiting for, head on over to Card Makin Mamas now so you can check out the challenge. Also we added  some new faces to  our DT. Be sure to go give them some love.

Help Support Japan

As you all know, Japan has been suffering from devastating earthquakes over the last month and it doesn't seem that the end is in sight as they are still experiencing devestating aftershocks.

Recently, Melissa Jenkins, creator of Meljen's Designs has collaborated with some other digi-illustrators at Whimsy Stamps to help bring financial support to earthquake-striken Japan!  CLICK HERE to see the details and ALL of the other wonderful creations involved in this effort! This adorable release is available for ONLY $9. OR the images can be purchased individually.

Today I am showcasing Melissa's digi that she created especially for this event. I absolutely LOVED working with this image. I colored her with some newly purchased Copics and I drew the outline frame with them as well. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey and I thought it would match the image well. I used some rose colored velvet ribbon to add texture and dimension to the card. Then I topped it off  by layering some Making Memories flowers and leaves secured by a matching MM brad.

Please head over to Whimsy Stamps to add your support to Japan by picking up one or all of the images.

Hello Cutie Challenge

It is time for the second challenge at the brand new challenge blog called Hello Cutie Challenges. The second challenge of the month is a photo inspiration challenge, and Lizzie sure did a great job with the photo.

Here is my interpretation of the photo. I used the awesome "Sail Away" image from Meljen's Designs and then I just went to town tearing paper for the waves. The background paper is from Core'Dinations and I thought  it looked very "sky" like. I then cut out a sun and cloud for extra visual affect.

Well..... what are you waiting for? Get yourself over to Hello Cutie Challenges and see what the rest of the fabulous DT have to share with you. While you are there you should grab the blog badge and enter the challenge. Also there is still time to get in on the color challenge. There will be a prize every month!
The best part is that Hello Cutie Challenges  is a CRAFT challenge blog so if you aren't into making cards or scrapbook layouts, that's ok. This challenge blog is open to all crafts: papercrafts, painting, sewing/quilting, crocheting/knitting, and even baking. Anything that is crafty is welcome. Hooray.

Hippity Hop

Happy Monday to you all. I hope all of you had a good weekend. I did  however it didnt last nearly long enough for my liking. Does it ever though? LOL. I did manage to get a little crafty this morning and so I am here to share with you what I created.

Last week I was going through my digi images looking for fun Easter ones, and I came across this great freebie set that I got From Bugaboo Stamps last year. There is one more in the set but unfortunately it would not fit. I colored Mr. Easter Bunny with Copics and then used Stickles for the polka dots. I wanted to keep it simple so I stamped the sentiment and added the twine ribbon and buttons. Wyatt said he wanted to give this to Grandma and Grandpa so I will let him so the inside of the card.

Stampin' for the Weekend - Easter

It's a Baby

Good day to you all, its Thursday again and that means it's means NEW RELEASE DAY over at Meljen's Designs. Check out these fabulous images (which can be purchased along with the rest of Meljen's fabulous images, at the the Whimsy Stamps shop).

As always, with the new release comes a new CHALLENGE. Yay. This week's challenge is a RECIPE CHALLENGE. The recipe is 3 Colors, 2 Patterned Papers, and 1 Bow.

For my card today I chose to use "Baby Shower". I have so many pregnant friends that I got really excited about this release. My favorite is the one I chose to share with you today. For this card I embossed a soft yellow cardstock to give the  background some texture. I used my Nesties to cut some small circles - 4 of each kind of patterned paper I was using. I then overlapped them to make the mat. Then I matted the image with the same  yellow cardstock. Finally I topped it off with wrapping the corners of the card with the white sheer ribbon and added the bow in the upper corner.

I am so excited about how this turned out. I can't wait to give it to my friend at her shower in June. She is having a baby boy and this will be perfect.

Hey Chick

It is Inspiration Day over at the MELJEN'S DESIGNS BLOG! Wow the DT really came up with some amazing cards to share with you.

My card today  is featuring a new release image "Little Egg Chick". Isn't he so adorable. I wanted to really  play with color on this since there is not alot of coloring on the image. I found these papers in the DCWV Spring Stack and I think they work perfectly together. I kept with the yellow from the chick and added the yellow and white flower with button and the yellow ribbon.

For my card today I chose to use one of Melissa's pre-colored digis, Lots O Love Octopus. I just love these pre-colored guys. Sure helps in a pinch. I used some fun double sided paper I got at the CK Convention here in Portland last weekend, along with some buttons I got there too. I topped it all off by threading the sheer ribbon through the eyelets of the lacey cirlce nestie. My son just got invited to a birthday party for a girl in his class and he wants to give this to her for her birthday card. So sweet.

In a Jam

Hey ladies it's Friday again and do you know what that means? It meant that there is another challenge over at the Card Makin Mamas Challenge Blog.

This week's challenge is sponsored by Wink Wink Ink and the theme is: EMBELLISH IT

For my card this week I chose to use "In a Jam" along with the freebie sentiment. I used my last scrap of this great double sided patterned paper. You can't  see it but the matting paper is metallic plum colored. In person it really sets off the lighter purples. I EMBELLISHED IT with purple tipped white flowers from Prima and some purple buttons. I also did a little faux stitching for visual interest.

Now what are you waiting for, head on over to Card Makin Mamas now so you can check out the challenge. The winner of the challenge will get a $15 GC to Wink Wink Ink. Thats a great pize worth entering for.
